I think you nailed it, Sharon. And the hard work part is something I need to work on. Persistence is something I have naturally.
I am persistent until I get knocked down by disappointments. I get up again, but I the determination wanes. As for hard work, it is second nature.
You know what they say: people who have no talent and no perseverance achieve nothing. People with talent and no perseverance achieve little. People with no talent but much perseverance achieve more. But the people with both talent and perseverance achieve the most.
I guess it’s a mix of one’s natural abilities and the character which determines what one does with them.
